Tai Calon Community Housing is the largest social housing landlord in Blaenau Gwent – Tai Calon have more than 6,100 homes across the three valleys – including 11 Supported Living Schemes.

During the first five years they spent upwards of £96 million bringing homes up to Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS).

This involved replacing kitchens, bathrooms and roofs as well as updating electrical wiring and heating systems.

The standard is set by Welsh Government and was achieved on time and under the £111 million budget.

Tai Calon try to keep as much of the money as they can within Blaenau Gwent – creating employment as well as work placements, and, where possible, supporting local suppliers/contractors.

Pinnacle migrated 230 numbers across networks without breaking mobile communication with head office.

Tai Calon’s expectations were high and yet Pinnacle delivered on everything required and more. Coming up with an initiative to provide free internet access in two community houses, which is allowing those tenants to get access to services that may have otherwise been unavailable to them.

Results achieved

Having 230 numbers to port from one network to another is never something that you expect to go smoothly, especially with over half of these numbers working in the field and needing to have constant mobile communications with the head office.

Pinnacle stepped up by suggesting that Tai Calon phase the migration starting with the office based staff, allowing any niggles that they may have with the process to get ironed out with the staff least affected by any issues and thus allowing Tai Calon to create any workarounds that may be required, as it was there were very few issues, and these were dealt with promptly.

Our dedicated Account Manager from Pinnacle plus a second experienced representative was on site the day of the bulk transfer to ensure everything went smoothly and assist our in-house IT team with the roll out and train users on their new devices.

Since then Pinnacle have continued to deliver the same high level of service, keeping our mobile communications running and allowing us to focus on our business.
